Turning Five and Staying Alive!

Regeneración completed half a decade this year! Our birthday was a celebration of the old and new this year: we made our usual pilgrimage to the American Museum of Natural History. As for the new, we were so excited to have many parents join us for the day - our networks are growing up too!

The day had so many special moments: some of our friends brought along their guitar for a jam session at lunchtime. We also discovered the joys of visiting the whale room for a mellow afternoon of lounging after a busy day of exploring dinosaurs, evolution and cladograms.

Thanks to our friends of all ages for joining us to celebrate!

US Social Forum: Childcare Collectives Come Together

Regeneración had the amazing opportunity to attend the 2010 US Social Forum in Detroit this June!

Especially exciting was the meeting of several childcare collectives from around the country - we came together to collectively plan a workshop about our visions for the labor of childcare. We discussed what brings us to this work and what it means to us, as well as some of our successes and challenges: it was a resounding success!

A radical rainbow of childcare collectives at the 2010 USSF!

We are looking forward to continuing to build with each other in the coming months... Stay tuned!
